01 Jun Lunatico
Caffe Lunatico has held it’s spot as one of the highest rated affordable restaurants on Trip Advisor for as long as we can remember now. At Caffe Lunatico you will find the best of Spanish cuisine merged with local flavours, a very friendly, welcoming staff, many of which who also speak English, in a super chill atmosphere with electro-lounge soundscapes. It’s no wonder this highly rated restaurant has become so popular with tourists.
Located in the equally trendy neighbourhood of Getsemani, on Calle Espiritu Santo, you will almost always find this place packed to the brim with tourists, ex-pats and well-informed locals. Here they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner including a special tapas section which is offered at both lunch and dinner time as well as daily dinner specials in the evenings. Not to mention their wide selection of cocktails, fresh fruit juices, specialty coffees and deserts.
Be sure to ask about their excellent preset-lunch special which consists of a starter, main course, dessert and a fresh juice all for just 15,000 pesos (about $5). Or order off the tapas menu and try a variety of the Spanish-Caribbean influenced small plates, including our favourites; shrimp in garlic sauce, tortilla espanol, crispy eggplant and gazpacho with grilled calamari and avocado. They have both English and Spanish versions of the menu which definitely can come in handy and makes for a more relaxed and enjoyable meal time as you can take a break from being glued to your Google Translator.
Their super cute exterior, friendly atmosphere, and neighbourhood cafe vibes are usually what first bring people through their doors and the excellent service, delicious food, and reasonable prices are what make Caffe Lunatico so well received. Add Caffe Lunatico to your list of places to visit in Cartagena and we can assure you will not be disappoint
