11 Aug La Perla
La Perla offers a cool and pleasant space located in Cartagena’s old town near Plaza Santo Domingo. Peruvian Chef Carlos Accinelli has done an excellent job making his food standout amongst the many other Peruvian restaurants in the city. His obsession with quality and freshness of ingredients results in his preparations that are a delight for the palette. The warm and calm modern atmosphere makes it the perfect site to dine on magnificent food.
The menu at La Perla achieves a unique expression of fusion where Mediterranean cuisine meets Peruvian influences. With Peruvian food on the rise in the world of gastronomy, the Mediterranean touch provides the perfect combination of bold exotic flavours with light and contemporary preparation techniques.
Dishes are super light and refreshing while still being packed with mouth-watering flavour that will explode in your mouth. The fresh, citrus accents found in starters such as the ceviches and tiraditos provide the perfect balance to the slightly heavier main course dishes.
It’s no surprise that restaurant owner, Roberto Carrascal loves to experiment with exotic fruits and liquor as the drink menu is packed with an impressive selection of Caribbean influenced drink concoctions. With a drink menu as tempting as this one, taking advantage of the abundance of tropical fruits and local run, you are sure to leave with nothing less than a slight buzz.
Roberto also likes to keep his place fresh and modern and regularly updates the menu so we highly recommend re-visiting La Perla every chance you get as you are bound to find something new and delicious to try each time around.
