It’s no doubt that Carmen has been dubbed Cartagena’s best restaurant over and over again when their moto is “love is in the details”. Carmen was originally created in Medellin by a family of culinary geniuses who worked together to combine their skills, passion, knowledge and experience to make Carmen what it is today. After dominating the culinary world in Colombia’s most metropolitan city, they decided to recreate the same experience here on the coast in beautiful Cartagena.

The menu at Carmen focuses on using contemporary techniques with the freshest ingredients possible while mixing flavour elements from all over the world to achieve the highest level of innovated plates. The five-course or seven-course tasting menu which can also be ordered with wine pairings is an excellent way to take your taste buds on a culinary journey through Carmen’s highly stimulating menu. Prepare to have all your senses blown away with a dining experience at Carmen.

The restaurant is located within the Ananda Boutique Hotel in the Historic Centre near the Heredia Theater and offers three separate dining spaces. The Aljibe is a gorgeous outdoor dining space situated atop the house’s original brick water tanks and offers a contemporary dining space with lush palms giving it a very enchanting vibe. The main dining room features air-conditioning, an open kitchen and luxurious mix of old and new with exposed brick and wood beams mixed with modern furniture and light fixtures. On the hotel’s roof, you will find the final and most intimate dining space called the mirador with a breathtaking view and cool ocean breeze, perfect for a romantic night out.
