Hi Cartagena invites you to wander in the wilderness amongst exotic birds and lush green trees at the Aviario National Park, home to some of the rarest and most exotic species of birds in South America – 135 different types to be exact
This shared excursion on the nearby island of Baru is a paradise for nature and animal lovers; a place where you can get up close and personal with many different species of birds, some of which will fly right over to greet you! Take part in a truly unique experience as you walk amongst flamingos and toucans, and take comfort in the fact that you are helping with the preservation of these beautiful creatures, as many are endangered species.
This tour to the Aviario Nacional – Baru Bird Park is located 50 minutes from Cartagena and lasts approximately two hours. Once there, you can see harpy eagles, different macaw species, flamingos, black-winged stilts, eurasian stone-curlews, parakeets, woodpeckers, condors, cardinals and curassows. Additionally, you will also see migratory species that arrive to the aviary’s 21 stations.
The tour continues to Playa Blanca, where you will enjoy a delicious lunch typical of Cartagena. There you can also enjoy a few hours of beach and sea breeze, or just relax surrounded by the landscape of one of the best beaches in Cartagena.
